As a child who was distanced from his parents while growing up, Carbonn BLCK uses painting as a tool to fulfil his incomplete childhood. He knew from a very young age that painting was something he wanted to do. No matter where life has taken him, he always finds his way back to painting at the end. At the start of his painting career, art was a struggle for the artist. For years, he had been trying to figure out how to ‘make it’. He believes that is one of the causes of his depression. However, once he chose to follow his heart and started painting just what made him happy, he realised that art, which was the cause of his depression, could also be used to save him. When he is painting, Carbon Blckk escapes into a world of his own imagination. Nothing else matters. His mind is like the free-floating clouds in the sky; it can be whatever he wants it to be. The artist’s main sources of inspiration include games, cartoons, and other things that made him happy in his childhood, when everything was simpler. He hopes to express this basic joy through his art, which he believes will resonate with many others. Carbon Blckk is currently based in Bangkok, Thailand. He paints full-time and prefers to keep his identity and personal life private.
